[On Saturday afternoon, villagers may notice a peculiar sight while out and about in their daily routines. Or maybe they've learned not to question anything that happens here, so they won't pay any mind to Freyjadour as he carries a damp and shivering Mithos through town in what is generally described as 'bridal style'.

...There's an explanation for this. Really.

It has something to do with being unceremoniously dumped into the fountain upon return from a death penalty removal, a minor inconvenience known as pain-killers, and a major inconvenience known as muscular atrophy.

Feel free to awkwardly run into them at any point during the trek to House 11. Tread close enough and snippets of arguments are likely to be heard:]

Put me down...! I am fine.

You can't even stand. Stop struggling, please.

[Or maybe something like:]

I don't need your help.

Yes, you do...just calm down.

[They stop to rest a few times along the way, because while Mithos isn't exactly heavy, he still isn't exactly light either. And he refuses to make this easy on Frey, putting up a constant sruggle against his hold. Good thing there are benches to sit on. And awkward, sullen silence to enjoy, in which Mithos pointedly looks the other way and Freyjadour just has a patient if long suffering look on his face.]

[LATER ACTION - House 11]

Throughout the rest of the day, Mithos has taken up temporary residence on the living room sofa of House 11. The side effects of the drugs have worn off, but he's still in no condition to go off on his own. According to Frey, anyway. Regardless of his condition, a house full of humans is one of the last places he wants to be. House members, come gawk at the grumpy kid in the living room all you want. He defnitely looks like he could use a little company, right? ...Right?]

[OOC NOTE: As you probably expected, responses in the earlier part will come from both Mithos and Freyjadour. Surprise on who will tag first, decided on a thread by thread basis. Later action portion may or may not include threadjacking from Frey or Kaori. You have been warned, friends.]

[He grabs the other bodily when he falls towards him, wasting no time in hauling him out of the fountain fully. Now, Mithos can either fall on his ass or he can allow Frey to hold him- his choice.]

[He doesn't stop struggling - he will flail and twist and hit and claw until Frey releases him. There isn't time to think about what will happen after Frey lets go. His muscles react on autopilot, only knowing the panic of being defenseless in such obnoxious proximity to a human.]

[Well, he certainly expected a struggle, but he still wasn't quite prepared for Mithos' panic, and though he tries valiantly to keep hold of him, his grip on the other eventually slips just enough for the other to slip away.

Mithos, meet hard stone ground.]

[He actually lands on the stone edge of the fountain, then falls backwards into the water. He's lucky the water slows down his momentum a little - he doesn't conk his head too hard. But his tailbone definitely took a pounding, and his wings aren't feeling too good either.

He sits up, flailing and spluttering and dizzy and sore and soaked. Really, if he wants to actually preserve some dignity.....]

[Mithos, if you end up regaining that death penalty by knocking yourself out and drowning in less then a foot of water, Frey will not be giving you any sympathies.]

....Are you alright?

[Frey's words come through a little fuzzy as he clutches the back of his head and winces. .....What did he just say? ...He nods his head slowly, still desperate to fool himself into believing Frey will leave him alone and he can do this by himself. He then uses his free hand to push wet strands of hair out of his face, annoyed at everything.]

[Sighing, he decides that really the only way to do this is to get into the fountain himself and bend down next to the other. So much for staying relatively dry....]

How badly did you hit your head....?

...Stop it. [No, that was too small, too weak.] Just stop it.

[Some quiet part of him, tucked away somewhere, realizes that given the choice between Frey and an unfamiliar human? He much prefers that Frey found him. But that's stupid... Just because he knows Frey, it doesn't mean he can trust him at all. The added confusion on top of everything else is doing nothing to calm him right now.]

I won't. If someone else doesn't come along to get you out of here, you'll just make yourself ill, or hurt yourself more trying to get out. At the very least the plaza is highly populated, but I doubt you want more people to see you like this, either.

[Perhaps, if he appeals to the other's pride..... He didn't count on Mithos trusting him, but a temporary truce was needed unless Mithos made him force the issue.]

[slowly withdrawing his hand from the back of his head] ...Why are you trying to help me? [Seriously...Frey has every right to hate him. He shouldn't even need a reason to...] You hate me, don't you?

[...maybe right now isn't the time for these questions, but he gets stuck on them way too easily. And it doesn't help that he's a little out of it anyway.]

[He shakes his head. Mithos was irritating, dangerous and someone he wasn't quite sure what to do with, true, but-]

'Hate' is a strong emotion, and one I do not feel towards many individuals. You have not done nearly enough to warrant such a sentiment. [His tone is matter of fact as he speaks, the look on his face rather unimpressed by the assumption. His worst offense, in Frey's mind, was the danger he posed to Kaori. But that was not yet a reality, and one he would instead watch the other for with caution.

He offers his hand once more.] Now will I have to force this, or will you take my hand? Either way I will not be leaving you here.

...How noble of you, not to sink to such lows. [Tongue and teeth like flint, words like sparks leaping off. Hatred is only to be felt by the weak, the damned, the wrong, while those who are good and right are above it? Fuck you.

He still doesn't take Frey's hand. He doesn't see any other way out, but..he doesn't want to cooperate. So he won't. He just glares silently for a moment, then:]

You'll do as you please regardless of what I choose...so stop wasting time.

I never said it was a low. I merely said it was not something I, personally, felt easily. [He knew he should hate a lot of people for their actions.... but most he didn't. It was how he had always been, and he remembered Lyon clearly remarking on it before.

He nods in response to Mithos' words.]

You are right, actually. But I would prefer your cooperation. I should be able to carry you, but I doubt it would be easy if you struggle. I do not wish to drop you, or fall myself.

Don't try to make it sound pretty. [He's...starting a lot of arguments that he can't finish today. The anger is there - it's always there - but arguing is too much effort right now, when he can barely focus. Thinking along these maddening lines is just aggravating him more and more. It's a downward spiral.

He could implode from how much he hates this. Ugh, whatever. He still isn't going to take Frey's hand. If it's going to be difficult for him no matter what, then he's going to make it difficult for Frey too.]

When was I doing anything of the sort? [Mithos that's just how he talks. He's going to stare at the other for a few moments to give him one, very last chance, before attempting to grab him bodily and going to lift him. He's grown a bit since December, so it might be difficult, but he should be able to manage.]

[He says nothing. Why does he insist on dragging this out? Mithos wants to punch the water again; his tightly-clenched fist twitches in thin restraint. When Frey reaches for him, his arms whip out in ingrained self-defense, so finely tuned that it doesn't require thought. But he actually tries to pull back, body quivering angrily as he fights the flow of instinct. Calm down, just calm down--]

[He'll take any blows thrown his way, not really noticing the restraint given the situation and his concentration being elsewhere. He's handled assassins on raging nostrum, for goodness sake, he can handle a drugged up, flailing Mithos.

So he'll go to pull the other more securely in his arms, before making an attempt to stand- Admittedly, his method of holding the other might be considered a bit 'girly'.]

[It's degrading no matter how Frey carries him, and this is marginally better than being slung over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. That doesn't mean he likes it, of course. His muscles coil tensely at Frey's touch; his shoulders hunch protectively and his hands becomes fists with nowhere to go.

He has no choice he has no choice just calm down except he doesn't want to calm down, because then what does that say?]

[He can feel that tension, and he feels a bit guilty for causing it, expression dropping just slightly before he carefully blanks his face once more. It was fine, as long as the other got someplace safe.]

....We have two options: Shall I take you to the clinic or the house?

[He shakes his head vehemently...bringing on a violent wave of dizziness. It takes him a moment to realize that his head is resting against Frey, but then he immediately lifts it and fights to refocus.]

...You will not take me to the clinic. [But he doesn't want to go back to that house, even if Kaori is there...]

[He doesn't mind the head resting against him as long as Mithos isn't struggling. He isn't trying to escape, at least, and he takes this as a good sign as he steps out of the fountain.]

Are you sure? It might be better for you to get proper medical attention. [It would mean more people for Mithos to deal with, but it would be better in the long run.]

[...Well now he's struggling. His body twists and the back of his hand strikes Frey's face, its impact weakened by the awkward angle and drugged state. His intent is not to make Frey drop him, but to make him drop the awful idea of going to the clinic.] No. I refuse.

Find me a crutch and I can take care of myself. [Yup, it's totally okay to leave him on his own like this. Definitely.]

[The strength of the reaction surprises him, and he can't really get away from that strike when he's carrying the other, so it hits, weak as it might be. His eyes are wide for just a moment, before he nods.

If that was how Mithos wished it, he wouldn't force him.] No, It is fine. I'll take you back to the house.

But if there is more at work that we do not know of, I am no doctor.

I said I'll be fine on my own. [Which is...probably not true at all. If he strains himself too much and starts feeling light-headed again... His struggling has become less frantic, but he's still squirming uncomfortably in Frey's arms.]

You cannot even escape my arms. If I am remembering correctly from our fight back then, you were much stronger then this. Just calm down unless you wish me to drop you.
