[At first, all that can be heard is indistinguishable muttering. It seems strangely distant. The words become increasingly clear as their source becomes apparently nearer to the journal. They sound as though they are being squeezed through tightly clenched teeth. It is a voice that may be chillingly familiar to some residents...]

It's not fair. It's not fair. [This is repeated a few times, stringing closer and closer together each repetition.]

Martel... I abandon- [He can't bring himself to say it. It's too disgusting. A moment of only heavy breathing. The anger is practically palpable, and...there is the strain of something else too. Despair?] I didn't want to... I didn't choose to!

Martel. Martel...

[She knows she shouldn't be looking at her journal too much. Not in this condition. But the sounds of a familiar new arrival catches her attention, and her breath catches.

Martel was no longer here. There was no reason for them to even fight here. But the question would be if he would realize that. She couldn't even say to him how freely and openly people could be with their races here, since most were so different that it didn't even matter. Because she was still hiding hers.

It was all ironic. But with her injuries, and lingering issues from her recent kidnapping... perhaps it would just be better to watch for a while. Some of the others were reaching out to him -- and she would have to interact with him eventually. Maybe even just for Genis's sake. Genis. Mithos's arrival is too much of a strong reminder of that right now.]
