[Frey snaps away at the sudden pain of someone tripping over his leg. Glancing around in surprise, he stares at the familiar blond boy in front of him.... Oh. He knew the other had escaped, but he hadn‘t been expecting to honestly see him….]

......Mithos?

[He rights himself, hand already poised on the hilt of his sword, waiting to see what Frey will do. His gaze radiates cold distrust.]

What do you want?

A nap, for one. [Did he honestly think he'd slept here on purpose? If he decided to lay in wait to attack someone he wasn't stupid enough to fall asleep while doing it.]

I see you're still out and about.

[So he had already known about the escape...Raine or one of the others had likely warned the village's inhabitants. Instead of watching out for just them, he'll have to watch his back against everyone. ...More than he already does.]

You aren't going to recapture me, if that is what you're thinking. [he isn't letting go of that hilt anytime soon]

Are you expecting me to try? [He knew he couldn't take the other alive here, alone, on little sleep.]

[...is that a trick question? He stares Frey down, trying to figure him out.]

...Do you mean to say you have no intention of doing so?

Not right now, no. From what I remember of the draft it wouldn't be a wise move to try to take you alive here and now. I have no plans to fight you at the moment unless you choose to attack me.

[He smirks. He'd had a Cruxis Crystal equipped during the draft, and in his current non-angelic state he's at only a fraction of that power... But he'll let Frey assume whatever he wants to assume.]

How surprisingly smart of you.

It's simply logical. [Going to stand, though he'll grab his weapon and replace it in it's holster for safety's sake. Frey will only fight Mithos if Mithos tries anything.]

[he takes a half-step back, still firmly gripping his sword's hilt. Frey doesn't seem to have any intention of attacking, but it's never safe to assume the best of humans.]

So, which one alerted all the inferior beings in the village? [there isn't anything he can do about it, but...it's good information to know]

I'd rather not tell you, if that is all right. [Frey knows better then to rat anyone out to Mithos. he didn't know how the other would react, if he would hunt them down, and taking that risk wasn't something done lightly.]

[...a minor annoyance; all of them are on his list regardless.]

I should have expected as much. Your noble character is not so easily shaken, is it? [said with all the facetiousness in the world. He won't be convinved that the magnanimous attitude is anything but an act put on by arrogance.]

I wouldn't call it noble. It’s a normal precaution that most people would take. [Don’t kill messenger. They did nothing but provide information. There's no point in not taking a little caution around this guy.]

[He just scowls.] I don't even know why I'm wasting my time on you...

[Slowly, he draws his sword - solely with the intent to threaten. It's a bluff. He knows that if he goes one-on-one with Frey, the human will realize his power is not on par with what he had displayed in the jungle. He just needs to convey the message that he isn't someone to mess with. So he points the blade toward Frey, and bores into him with a cold look.]

When Kaori returns, you are to go nowhere near her. I will find her and help her back. [he hadn't been able to help her after the draft, but he can do this]

I cannot promise that. [Because he won't. He won't do that, because he has a feeling he knows how she'd take him avoiding her. In spite of the blade pointed towards him, the look he sends Mithos is serious, as are his words: He will not abandon her.]

If I avoid her, it will upset her. I won't do that to Kaori.

You're only deluding yourself if you honestly believe she would care about a human at all, or that she would let you deceive her. [he knows she knows better than that; she understands better than anyone the damage humans inflict...]

I won't let her be put though that.

Maybe I am deluded about her trust in me, but I know she cares. And I know I care about her. [Trusting someone and caring for someone are not the same thing sometimes.]

She can't care about someone she doesn't trust. Do you expect me to believe that? [At least, he needs to convince himself that caring cannot exist without trusting first... Because otherwise, thoughts that make no sense spiral up to choke his mind. Thoughts of certain people he doesn't want to think about. ....This isn't about that, though; just focus on Kaori. She makes sense.]

You can. I don't trust some of the people I know here very much, but I care for them. [Thinking back to that flower she gave him.... that she let him raise even after the fact.] I believe Kaori is a kind girl, someone who cares about people. But she got hurt badly and it's hard to trust after that.

[He thinks that is sheer stupidity, but he bother telling Frey that. Let him see where that gets him, caring about people he isn't sure he can trust. Mithos certainly doesn't care.]

You don't have to tell me that, how difficult it is to trust. If you can talk about it so casually, you really don't understand.

I wonder...... I might not know a thing about you, but you don't know anything about me, either, you know. [He sighs.]

You are, again, judging me based solely on race, not my personal experiences or personality. [And now he is stepping forward. there is no point in lingering here, or continuing this conversation. It's a brick wall and he knows it.] May I leave?

Remove yourself from my sight.

[His blade remains pointed toward Frey, following him as he moves. There's no use reasoning with a human...they barrel forward with their own agenda, regardless. He'll just have to do what he must to keep his only friend safe.]

Don't worry, I will leave. I'm heading back today anyway. Goodbye, Mithos. [with a wave, Frey heads towards the village, though he does make sure to not turn his back to Mithos until he is out of sight.]
