[The morning finds Mithos on a trip to...the flower shop, of all places. It's for Martel (ever the lover of plants), so just shut up. Probably an odd decision to go in all this rain, but he has an umbrella handy. The rain is hardly a bother compared to an endless list of other items he can think of, mostly people.

When he returns, it is time to address some things that have gone unaddressed for too long.]

I know that you are well aware of my sister’s recent arrival. You are to go nowhere near Martel. If I see you, I will not hesitate to run you through on my blade.

[A pause, because he really can’t believe he’s about to willingly address them. With Yuan he could at least gloat, but the others... It is a necessary precaution, however.]

I am sure that many of you, with your annoying habit of finding out everything eventually, also know that Martel is presently in this world. You will all stay away from her. ...I’ve already said that I would choose the same path again if given the chance, and so I will continue to fight for and protect my sister. Consider this a generous warning.

[A while later in the day, after taking care of the above business with various enemies, he decides it is time for something more...pleasant. When he cracks open the journal again, he can’t quite keep the note of excitement out of his voice.]

Kaori, she’s here. Martel is here! I...thought you’d want to meet her.

[And afterwards, he wanders through the house to seek out his dearest sister.]

[Her dampened mood does not go unnoticed by Mithos. Why all of a sudden...?]

Is something wrong?

[ She forces out a cheerful smile. ]

No, not at all! I'm just a bit tired today. So what was it about Kaori you wanted to say?

Maybe you should get to sleep earlier tonight. [He'll give her a concerned look for a brief moment more. But if she's sure she's all right...]

I said I'd introduce her to you, remember? So I thought I would invite her over.

[ This is what most people would call a positive and a negative. It's good how Mithos has a friend he has a common field with. She's actually ecstatic about that.

But it's not so pleasing when that common interest is hatred towards humans. Now, she wouldn't dare try to separate the two. That would surely push her brother of the edge. The least she can do is hope that the only thing they talk about is how much they hate humans. ]

Yes, I'll sleep earlier tonight.

Oh, Kaori's coming? That's wonderful Mithos! When is she coming?

[He's happy to see her so excited. Because she must be lonely too, of course. She must want to find someone who can understand and whom she can actually trust as much as he had wanted to.]

It shouldn't be too long.

[ She stood up from her chair and made her into the kitchen. Already she was starting to gather pots, pans, and ingredients. ]

You should have told me earlier! I could have gone out and bought some ingredients to make a special meal for all of us. But I can make do with what we have now. Are there specific foods that Kaori can't eat?

[ Martel busied herself with the task of cooking. All thoughts and concerns of Kaori's hatred of humanity was erased from her mind. She was going to pretend that everything was fine. The day would carry out just like when any child invites his friend over. Even if it a lie.

[The exuberance with which his sister is now moving about the kitchen is a little surprising. But her enthusiasm make him happy. He hadn't even thought of having anything prepared for their guest - it's not like he's ever invited a friend over before. His social skills are pretty rusty, after all.]

No, I don't think there's anything... [not that he knows of, anyway.]

[ She briefly turns her head to Mithos. ]

Then how about any particular foods she likes? I wouldn't want to cook her something she dislikes.

[ She almost mentions Kratos' hatred of tomatoes but caught herself. No need to upset her brother when he's already excited about Kaori. ]
